In 1965, Arapahoe Junior College became the first two-year college in the greater Denver area. Ever since, we have been the place of choice for people who want to Move Mountains. Known as Arapahoe Community College since 1970, ACC’s Littleton campus offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Colorado Rockies. The Art and Design Center Campus hosts Fine Art, Design and Technology programs. We further serve the South Metro Denver Area with general education courses and several degree programs at our Parker Campus and Castle Rock Campus. ACC currently educates more than 9000 students and we are excited about the expansion of our Castle Rock Campus in 2019.

The Vice President of Finance & Administrative Services (VPFAS) is a senior-level administrator reporting directly to the President and is a member of the President’s Cabinet and College Leadership Team. The VPFAS serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the college and provides overall strategic management, planning, and leadership in the following operations: Fiscal Services; Information Technology; Auxiliary Operations (Bookstore, Café); Campus Police and Safety; Facilities, Maintenance and Construction; Child Development Center; Fitness Center; and Production & Mail Services.

This full-time position reports to the College President and is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the Administrative Services Division of the Community College of Aurora. This position oversees the Fiscal Affairs Department, which includes Accounting, Purchasing, Cashier’s, Grants & Contracts along with providing oversight to the Facilities Department, Information Technology Department and our Auxiliary Services (Cafeteria and Bookstore).

As a member of the executive staff, this position contributes to strategic planning, innovation, and financial well-being of the College to support the vision, mission and values and provides leadership, vision, planning, direction, and review of all Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) administrative services operations. Functional responsibilities include Administrative Business Service to include; Contracts, Budget, Accounting, Purchases, Payroll, Cashier and Fiscal Reporting; Facilities; Information Technology; Media and Audio Visual Resources; Food Services; Children’s Center; School Age Child Care; and Child Care Innovations as well as oversight of contracted Bookstore Operation. Represents the College in the community and acts as a spokesperson to maintain a positive image for the College encouraging community involvement and support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, accounting, public administration or other closely-related field
  • 5 years of experience in financial accounting, auditing or public/nonprofit accounting, including the management of fiscal policies and procedures
  • 6 years of supervisory experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, fiscal and risk management
  • Knowledge of and experience with procurement processes, financial controls, and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
  • Experience at the senior leadership role
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Additional preference for dual certification as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Financial Manager (CFM)
  • Experience in higher education, preferably at a community college
  • The ability to serve as an agent of change and ability to demonstrate integrity in a highly visible position
  • Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate and communicate with others
  • The ability to deal effectively with individual and teams from diverse backgrounds
  • The ability to provide quality customer service
  • Experience using BANNER accounting system
  • Knowledge of Colorado Community College Systems Standard Accounting Procedures (SAP)
